UPSSSC Recruitment 2026 Notification Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has officially released a recruitment notification for Excise Constable. Selection Process

Selection will be made through Main Written Examination followed by Physical Standards Test and Physical Efficiency Test (qualifying in nature).

• Shortlisting for Main Examination: Based on normalized score of Preliminary Eligibility Test-2025 (PET-2025). Only candidates who have qualified PET-2025 with valid Score Card can apply. Candidates securing zero or negative marks in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted.
• Main Written Examination: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (Objective Type), 2 Hours duration.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Minimum qualifying marks will be decided by the Commission.
  • Syllabus:
    • Part-1 (85 Marks): History of India & Indian National Movement, Geography of India & World, Economic & Social Development of India, Indian Polity & Constitution, General Science & Technology, Environmental Ecology & Disaster Management, Current Events of National & International Importance, Data Interpretation, Important Legal Provisions & Policies related to Excise in Uttar Pradesh.
    • Part-2 (15 Marks): Knowledge of concepts of Computer & Information Technology and contemporary technological development & innovation in this field.
• Physical Standards Test (Qualifying):
  • Male: Height 167.6 cm, Chest 80 cm (unexpanded) / 85 cm (expanded).
  • Female: Height 152 cm (General), 147 cm (SC/ST), Weight 45 kg.
• Physical Efficiency Test (Qualifying):
  • Male: 4.8 km run in 25 minutes.
  • Female: 2.4 km run in 14 minutes.
• Final selection is based on marks obtained in the Main Written Examination. Physical tests are qualifying in nature.
• Result of Main Examination and final merit list will be declared on the official website.

How to Apply

Application Mode: Online only through the official website https://upsssc.gov.in

Steps to Apply:

1. Visit the official website of UPSSSC and go to the Live Advertisement segment.
2. Login using your PET-2025 Registration Number + OTP received on registered mobile/email.
3. Fill the online application form with all mandatory details (personal information, educational qualification, category, horizontal reservation, etc.).
4. Upload/verify photo and signature (auto-populated from PET-2025).
5. Pay the online processing fee through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI or SBI e-Challan.
6. Submit the application and take a printout for future reference.
7. After successful fee payment/reconciliation, download and print the final application form.

General Instructions

• Only candidates who have appeared in and qualified PET-2025 with a valid Score Card are eligible to apply.
• The number of vacancies is tentative and may increase or decrease.
• Reservation benefits (vertical & horizontal) will be given as per latest UP Government orders.
• Candidates must possess the required educational qualification and other eligibility criteria as on the last date of submission of application.
• Age and experience will be counted as on the last date of application.
• Candidates belonging to reserved categories must produce original valid certificates in the prescribed format at the time of document verification.
• EWS candidates must submit the latest Income & Asset Certificate (issued between 01-04-2026 to 24-06-2026) based on financial year 2025-26.
• No change in category or any details will be allowed after the last date of modification.
• Mere submission of application does not guarantee eligibility or call for the Main Examination.
• All updates, admit cards, results, etc., will be available only on the official website https://upsssc.gov.in. Candidates are advised to visit the website regularly.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
• Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of Courts in Lucknow only.
